Ramadan Kareem 2016

Every year at this time as a tradition, I put up a post that is a comprehensive listing of what brands have on offer for Ramadan. This is the 3rd post of its kind on the blog and although it doesn’t include every brand, I did try to contact as many as possible and give you a single go to link so you can compare them all on the same page and make a choice.

The list this year is more elaborate  than 2015 with a lot of new names added to enhance your Iftar & Suhoor experience yet again! With more Ramadan tents and unique concepts, below is the listing for Ramadan offerings compiled by Hungry Birds Doha.

I can’t believe we waited until Tuesday to have our first outdoor meal this week! On a personal note, I was avoiding too much of the restaurant food as I was gearing up for the #QIFF2015 (Qatar International Food Festival) and thinking about the treats I had last year and absolutely was looking forward to new additions this year as it looked extremely promising. Let’s find out if I was pleased this year and much more.

Tuesday was a ‘try new restaurant’ kind of a day and we visited the much anticipated ‘Dakshin’ at Barwa Village. Authentic South Indian food and my first time with hardcore flavors of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu (South Indian states). I thought it was brilliant and though I didn’t have any past experience to compare it to, I am sure to go back and tingle those taste buds with spicy food and for that filter Kaafi (coffee). The service was a bit of a downside (review soon here).

I don’t always eat out!

I am frequently asked if I ever eat at home or do I even cook on a daily basis. As much as I love to visit restaurants and eat out, it is not always possible to be out there and YES! I do cook and eat at home. Eating at home also includes the home delivery from various amazing outlets in my area. On other occasions, I am spoilt by wonderful people like Rou’a from Rou’s Sweet Corner.
Rou’a is a home baker and has a variety from cupcakes to cookies, cake rolls to cheesecake jars and truffles. What started as a passion is now evolved to a business where she spreads the goodness of her love for baking to various homes. It is the personalized touch that she has given to each of the products on offer. Receiving an invite to sample the new products and provide an honest feedback was quite an honour and I couldn’t resist when I heard Carrot Cupcakes and Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies!
