Fusion Restaurant Friday Brunch – Doha

How important has the Friday brunch culture become in Qatar, I ponder?  Honestly, my loyalties are mostly with weekend breakfasts, but with so many varied options for a Brunch; I wonder who would bother with waking up early in the morning. That being said, I still love breakfasts and will continue to do so.
Coming back to ‘Friday Brunch‘ – I have finally found a boutique that cooks up a vast buffet and is true to its name Fusion located at the Governor West Bay Suites & Residences.

Ideally located in the West Bay, I would easily say that Governor Suites gave me a very Arabic feeling in terms of the ambiance, rich hospitality, warm greetings and friendly staff. The interiors is modern Arabic on the whole. Fusion at the 1st floor of the hotel is a nice dining area with a buffet widespread at the atrium circumference. To me, the buffet was well placed and a little something for every palate. We were a group of 4 invited and we all had different liking.

The hexagonal atrium had tables all around with flavors from different regions mainly concentrating on European and Arabic cuisine.

La Varenne Friday Brunch – Doha

How many times have you experienced a buffet where you don’t go to the table rather the table is brought to you every time you want that particular favourite dish and unlimited times with a smile never failing as if icing on the cake?
Well, my only answer is the La Varenne Friday brunch wonderfully compiled by Chef Stuart Collins. This was my first experience where I ate to my fullest without taking any effort to fill my plate. The wonderful staff makes sure they spoil and spoon feed you to eternity (I’m the spoilt sorts, loved the pampering). Overlooking the Arabian sea from the 28th floor, is La Varenne boasting classical   French cuisine served in a contemporary setting little bit of everything in their brunch and nothing comparable to buffets or brunches you may have or will try. One easily falls in love with the restaurant as you enter; with very open colours and simple pastels. A nice beautiful Damien Hirst art piece (how Qatar loves art) just behind the reception complimenting the décor.  What instantly takes your heart is the enthusiasm of the staff eagerly awaiting to assist and serve you. We are guided to our table and though the restaurant was full, you will not feel crowded or intruded and you can easily enjoy your privacy amidst a house full.

Bread and Bagels Weekend Brunch – Doha

I’ve often been asked where is the best place for Friday Brunch and then I bombard them with more questions. Range? Timing? Location? Etc. There’s nothing like the best place as this depends on your pockets mainly because really the brunch in Qatar ranges from QR 30 to QR 300 and sometimes a bit more.
As I still keep a check on various places to Friday brunching, I’ve found new love in Bread and Bagels.
