Raisin the roof at Argan restaurant

Not entirely delighted at our previous visit to Al Jasra Boutique Hotel’s other restaurant – Al Sanbouk, I wasn’t quite sure if I must hold high expectations this time around at Argan – their neighboring Moroccan restaurant. However, I’d mostly heard good reviews, so there was a quite positive vibe already. The restaurant is dim lit – beautiful ambiance for a nice candle light dinner and also has a low height seating section for a more relaxed evening.

Experiencing authentic Moroccan cuisine for the first time, it was safe to order recommended dishes by our server. He was very well versed with what he suggested and knew the menu at the back of his hand (a rarity).

The service on this day was perfect with everything on time and I would have observed full marks (but on another occasion it was a bit of a let down).

We were celebrating our anniversary and I must admit we picked the right place. It was a pleasant evening with the highlight being – exquisite Moroccan food!

Al Sanbouk at Al Jasra Boutique Hotel – Doha

I love seafood and to have a 3 course dinner voucher for 4 persons at Al Sanbouk restaurant in Al Jasra Boutique Hotel was just perfect to dive into my favorite food from the sea.

The hotel is absolutely mesmerizing with a very calm ambiance and so was the restaurant. It was an instant turn off, though, when we waited for 5 minutes and there was no one to attend to us in the restaurant. What surprised me was that unlike it’s neighbor restaurant – Al Argan; Al Sanbouk was empty entirely. We did have someone to assist us finally and we were seated at the table of our choice. I always think its nice to have people dining around me than to be at a restaurant by ourselves. If this was a romantic sort of an evening, it would be perfect!

La Spiga by Papermoon Friday Broonch – Doha

Craving for an Italian treat, are you? You have got one Foodies! A much needed authentic Italian boutique is in Doha finally. Launched mid last year, La Spiga by Papermoon at W Doha now brings to you the Friday Broonch introduced a few weeks ago serving authentic Italian dishes brought right to your table and as much as you care to eat with the addition of an antipasti buffet.

Having La Spiga listed in my to-do list, what came as a surprise was I won a Friday Broonch for 2 in a competition early this month.

What instantly gives this beautiful W Doha addition a 5 star is the hospitality and the ever smiling staff. This place, I have to admit, is by far THE number 1 in my experience with regards to service. If you have kids, you are in the right place because their staff love kids. They played all through our broonch time with my son. The managers came at least twice to check on us and if we needed anything. And, I noticed this was a practice with all the guests present during my time there (rare to find in Doha).
