If you actually explore this city, you will be amazed at the little hideouts that serve up sumptuous delights alongside great interiors and won’t disturb your pockets as much.
I reviewed a similar place last week, Sewar Al Sham (read the review here) and once more I am happy to review this outlet that is located at a petrol station. Don’t be fooled by its location, Star Kebab Tandoori is as authentic as North Indian food should actually be. There is no modification, whatsoever, with the spice-o-meter of any dish.
Deliciously starting the week with a difficult task, I was adamant to at least have one batch of the Macarons right, out of the three that I baked. With lot of motivation from my Facebook friends and Polly, I did succeed considering this was my first ever attempt!
What I learnt from my experience with Macarons that no one will tell you:
Don’t ever grind the almond flour too much, it will turn into a paste.
Folding the batter just right is the most important.
Rest the beauties for at least 20 minutes before baking them.
Always use the top flame if you have a gas oven and keep checking every 3 minutes or this is what you will get!
This review has been long overdue and even though there is nothing fancy about the restaurant their food talks for them! Sewar Al Sham is a hidden gem in this city and our favourite weekday indulgence.
This is not the usual small-time Lebanese place that is not suited for women. The ambiance is very welcoming, clean interiors, hygienic atmosphere and kid friendly to top it all – there! they got their brownie points! There is no segregation in areas, but families can easily enjoy a good time.
